I've got all the tax discs for the bike and like others I doubt they'll be thrown away, just kept in a tin by all like Greenshield and Coop stamps 

I too keep mine in a tin next to my greenshield stamps which sit next to my unopened blister pack of star wars figures

I wish I'd kept the fuel ration book that was issued in the early 1970 because I've looked on ebay and they are going for 99p

I dont think anything that people say now will be collectable in the future -will be as everyone will of saved one. What you need to collect is somthing and keep your mouth shut whilst everone else throws them away.
