Ah yes you are correct not near the any switch gear the damned throttle cable housing is in the way.


So let's stop being pedantic and read the throttle housing instead of switchgear. Sorry if throttle housing not correct term, I sure some one will correct using you pic.


Your pic, now if I were in your shoes and my suggestion was actually your suggestion as soon as I look at that pic and even with me being a tad thick  I would suddenly see what you were on about. 


But hey it was just a suggestion cheap and simple  for which I apologise

If the above suggestions don't solve it, another possibility is the throttle position sensor.
Checking the adjustment is fairly easy (once you have the correct secure torx driver), but it may be there is a worn spot on the track of the potentiometer in which case replacement will be necessary.
