To be honest, Noggy, I'm not overly keen on it. Plus, it's too expensive. As I'm already skint, I have to draw a line in the sand somewhere! As for brand - as long it has two wheels, I don't care (much  :b ).

With 3hrs on UK roads to get home? My backside won't thank me for that!! And that's assuming I take the short route in France too!

Noggy - if you're buying the booze, you'll have a job keeping me away UNTIL summer!!  :lol :lol

Nice, but still too expensive. Anyway, I probably won't be able to buy until early December at the very earliest (assuiming I get a job next week too). Just model scouting. But it's on the list, thanks.  :thumbup

I'm a difficult bugger, aren't I?

Oh, and I'll be derestricted next June too. Roll on!  Big Grin

Kawasaki ER5 / 6 (the 5 will be in your price range, not sure the 6 will be, but the 6f does have a fairing). The other option, if you can find one, is the old Kwak ZR7 (which should fit the bill nicely in terms of price, ins, and there's a half-faired version).

Had a go on a friend's ER5, hated the sound, hated the handling. Not for me. That Kwak is nice though.  Smile

With my test passed in September last - insurance on an MGB-GT - £2,500. And I refuse to drive anything that doesn't have character (requires a toolkit  Wink ).

Apart from Mum's Panda. I don't get a say in that.  :b

I was going to suggest the GPZ 500, I had a Suzuki GS 500 and yeah for tall people they are small but not awful, for some reason my Fazer is actually more uncomfortable for my legs even though my knees didn't even fit in the tank indents on my GS!  :eek

If you can afford an SV, then I would highly reccomend them. The first thing you notice as soon as you sit on it is its feather weight. Handling is very good, engine is easy to use and by no means boring. It doesn't obviously have the outright power of the Fazer but around town the torque is there. Motorways its comfortable enough, but needs a downshift to overtake where my Fazer will take off in 6th no worries. Decent enough for tall riders.

Option 3 would be the bandit 600. In all honesty, I had a go on my mates recently and it wasn't as poor as I expected. When we go out for rides he's miles back but I think he just doesn't ride it right. First thing is first, you will probably prefer the engine to the SV as its more like the Fazer just not as good. Sounds nice with a good can though and its pretty smooth. Handles okay, his felt a bit stiff and the ride was quite firm but it had good character and did fit me better than my Fazer. Worth a punt definitely, this is from a fellow bandit slater... Desperate times and all that
