Be careful out there kids
Yeah, that'll do it :oops

I refer you to my post some moments ago

What you mean down the pavement and across the park
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
ya expensive & very sore lesson learned
Mine is a bit clunky going into second at low rpm but slips in nicely up the rev range.
tried it today
10000RPM in 1st is 45mph

Did the bike explode in a ball of flames? You're not suppose to go over 3k as it wears out the tacho.
Not to mention what it does to the farkle gland. Honestly some people, no mechanical sympathy!!
You don't need a redline, that's what the rev limiter is for :
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

Some say...
So you are going to tell you're insurance company that " I was just wheel spinning away from the traffic lights when it gripped unexpectedly...." I think I know what they will say, probably along the lines of "no" but with more F's involved. :lol
Save the planet...It's the only one with beer!
no need to tell them nothing, only myself involved, can fix bike for less than excess on policy, have private health & got a tow on breakdown cover

Oh, and my gears don't clunk from 1st to 2nd, mainly neutral to 1st.

In case anybody wanted slightly more accurate information/speed at different revs or gears, this website is pretty great:

Just chuck in your bike's make, model and version, switch is over to mph, then put the rpm in the m.p.rpm box - easy!
It's all here on a nice sheet which also shows the effects of changing sprockets.

Its entirely possible that IF the bike were to ever reach 12,500 RPM in 6th it would be travelling at 155mph... it just won't ever get there because it doesn't have the power...

A rather pointless figure then?
More people are born because of alcohol than will ever die from it.
I think its there more for consistency - besides, there may be other bikes that the gearing also represents which have the extra power to achieve such a figure?
Also, if you change the gearing enough, the 12,500 RPM in 6th can come down to below Yamaha's quoted top speed for the bike - not a useless figure then
