I went for the cycko2 boot, £99. Its a nice boot , fits me Ok , comfy for walking for the distance I go in them. My last pair have done 8 euro tours, but were wearing out from toes touching tarmac, and a slight wear hole had appeared in the leather at a crease point, and they leaked like a sieve......I can fit into race boots, but often my leg swells during the day where my bone was broken, and it wont go back on if I take my boot off ! Thats scary if you have to ride any further ! Sometimes my ankle will swell up to 1" in circumference, so this sort of boot means I can always get them back on.I have tried race boots up to size 12 but little diffrence in ankle provision. Oddly it used to be the calf muscle which was the problem,as many race boots are made for waif like such ... but its now the ankle joint itself !

Dainese vs HG?
No contest. The Dainese is a far better finished product. I've recently replaced my trusty Dainese gore tex jacket. 9 years old, still watertight, and no appreciable wear. It's been macine washed every year too. Dainese is generally well made, stylish, and ALL jackets zip up to ALL pants. Can't go wrong really. Finally, if you sign up at the D Store, you'll get 10% discount on all future purchases. I always use the Manc store, and the service there is second to none. Highly, highly recommended.

The uber cool gear is hanging in the cupboard under the stairs, still unworn
![]() Just too busy with a property for a couple of weeks. On the bright side my old stuff made £150 on ebay so it now only cost £400 :woot

I went in yesterday and picked up some Daytona Toron boots, the felt nice on my feet and look to have a good sole for walking in and also Gore Tex so should be waterproof. I to have a problem with an ankle that i busted up pretty bad last year just before my annual bike trip with friends, i could get my other foot in the smaller size but not the one with the busted ankle. Picked up a pair of gloves too as i had vouchers to spend.

Just for interest .. maybe ?
The best advert I have for HG kit is this shot of me on a ten day wintertime Husky Safari way up in northern Lapland .. temperatures around minus 27c most of the time .. and I stayed as snug as toast ![]() The suit is now (about) ten years old and still doing what it said on the original tin .. very good gear. :b (My dogs seemed to like reading the MCN too) Stay Safe Guys .. buy the best you can afford and keep warm and dry ![]() Trev. Was this in Laguna's. I was in there on easter Saturday as well as they had 20% off RST so kitted me and the missus out in new gear 8)

Yes, Laguna's Al :thumbup
Interestingly, received another voucher from HG today. £40 off a £160 spend. Thats 25% off any clothing or helmet by the looks. Mind you remember I was offered 30% off without showing any voucher, so haggle. Surely they can't sustain this level of discounting much longer!

Have been inundated with e-mails from HG for months on end. Only trouble is the gear I bought from them in 2005/6 refuses to wear out & its only the trouser top catch thats for some strange reason got tighter! Its a tough old world out there in retail land!

I've been inundated too with HG offers. I do need to renew all my gear (lid, boots, gloves, leathers) but not until I've finished losing weight! Also need some decent waterproofs or textiles. Pencilled in August for doing this, and if HG is still around(!) will do the buy now pay a year later offer. By late summer, I'll also have sussed out whether I want to bite the bullet and get a Speed Triple.

Yes, best loose weight for the leathers, remember they only sell boys sizes :lol
