some may call me bah humbug but ..
I don't normally go out drinking with my colleagues, I work with them 8 hours a day but that doesn't mean I want to socialise with them, spending £30 on a shite turkey dinner, then another £30-40 on drinks talking about work!

so when they all pissed off yesterday for the meal I went home got on my bike and went for a blast! 120 miles along A27-A26 to A22 lol felt great  & oh what a surprise I'm only one in work this morning feeling great whilst NOT 1 has turned to yet!
Good for you. Those mas-catering events are always crap food, overpriced.

There,s plenty of army snipers that would have dropped it with one shot and no danger to any persons.

My Mrs works at Gatwick and when she told me about the problem at 6am yesterday, I offered ny services with my shotgun but was turned down.
Shame, they coild have opened 24 hours earlier. There are enough people with shotguns in this area we could have spaced out around the perimiter and covered the whole thing

They should not even be elevated to Drone - they are quad copters.

[/quote]I thought they could get one of those drone racer chaps to smash into it the way they fly them they could easily do it.
I dont think they wanted either lead or drone bits all over the runway.
I can't believe that no one has spotted where it is disappearing to each time or even where it comes from when it returns.
I think it is being operated from a remote position by a relay and when it flys off it lands and a ready to go charged up replacement takes its place, I dont think a person is there swapping battery's.

Its not a drone, its a probe from Mars trying to find out where that lander came from thats stopping all the Martians from walking about on the surface.

Snipers don't tend to deal with fast moving targets and if you can't guarantee a hit, where is that bullet going to come down?

Also shotguns have an effective range of maybe 100 metres (depending on load), so the chances of being in the right place are pretty slim.

With enough people around the perimeter of the airport, spaced at say 75m apart, we could get it :pokefun

If it was that easy I'm sure they'd have done it. Drones can reach many thousands of feet in altitude and fly for miles: projectile weapons don't stand much chance of shooting it down unless you happen to be near the launch or landing area.

though the blokes alibi has a strange smell to it. His "boss" who claims he was working all day, is also his ex and the mother of his child.

I am sure that the police have checked it properly though and they do have the wrong people. Just some nosy neighbour who doesn't like the bloke fingering him as a suspect because he has a big drone.

There is a report now that the police have found a damaged drone near the airport so, if that is the drone concerned, it will have some clues to the real culprit.

And certain members of the media *cough* Piers Morgan *cough* are now desperately rowing back on comments they've made about these people being "morons" who caused so much disruption, having plastered their names and faces all over the place, presumably in the hope that they can somehow avoid a massive defamation lawsuit...

Why were they held for 36 hours, surely the cops would of found out quicker that is was not them. Seems the tip off came from a neighbour who did not like the chap flying helicopters then drones and cars down the street.
