Is it struggling to turn after the steering has been locked?
That issue has been on here before, and even my bike does it, but the very simple fix if that is the issue is to pull the handlebar to the left before turning the key, then it becomes very easy to turn. It's a very minimal turn with whatever is left, but it does free up the key against any resistance.
Works the same when putting the steering lock on too, just hold the handlebar as much as it will turn to the left before using the key to lock it.
