A bit late in posting, but had a whizz out to Peacehaven on Saturday. A biker friend of ours is in a nursing home in that area. Sadly only in his 60’s but is not in a good way. He met us at the front door after seeing the bikes arrive from the day room, wearing his favourite GSXR t-shirt and a big smile on his face.
Dementia is an awful illness, even more so maybe in someone so young. Fortunately he was “with us” during our visit, as expected, bikes were the common ground for discussion. To me he’s the bloke who could wheelie for miles.
It was good to get out. The forecast was dry which was mainly true, but the road surface was wet from start to finish, but was not a problem. Can’t believe how little I’ve been out this year, but Le Mans 24 hour is next month, so that will be one decent ride to look forward to at least.
