The 2005 has a different Ignitor code. The ignitor changed in the 2003-2004 to control the headlights as they now come on when the bike starts. All of he US models when the key is turned on the lights on all the time. The 2001-2002 EU models had a switch on the right handlebar to turm on the headlights.(18-01-26, 04:50 PM)unfazed Wrote: There were two models the FZS1000 and the FZS1000S and the 1000S has the black engine
Well thank you, we're there any other differences apart from the engine colour?
Ignition switch is different in that the 2001-2002 has 7 wires the 2003-2005 models have 5 wires and the US models have only 4 wires
The black engine appears to last better than the silver but all will suffer corrosing eventually especially when used all year round. Takes a lot more care to keep the silver paint intact.
One thisg I have noticed is the 2005 models has a small black pad on the underside of the tank that I have not seen the the earlier ones
All parts are interchangeable
Thats about it really
