How much is my bike worth
#5
Have a look at Peter James Insurance. Offer agreed value up to £10k without an independent valuation. Couple of wrinkles, you have to be a member of a club, 3rd party cover for other machines restricted to fellow club owners and a few other bits, can't remember them all, probably limited annual mileage too but as a dry weather non commuter rider that doesn't bother me too much. Initially joined because of my Norton, no everyday insurance company would ever pay out close to what it is worth/I paid for it as a total loss. Talking about £6k so I really didn't bother to compare premiums with anywhere else. I then got the FZS 600 which gets in under the 20 year rule at 2001 and found the added cost for the second bike was a no brainer. That I was a member of the Norton Owners Club was sufficient, I didn't have to join any other Yamaha or Japanese Classic oriented club as well.

Looked it up, Norton was £142 and 10 months for the Yamaha mid-term add-on was a £48 add on for a 67 year old. So, possibly not that cheap but as above, the agreed value bit swings it for me every day. Think I also get breakdown insurance as part of the deal but I already have RAC for that so nothing gained really.
