It was a nice sunny Autumn day down here in Portsmouth, so I decided it was time to add a few more miles to exceed the paltry 189 I did last year...!
Looking through my Sat Nav routes, I found one heading out up the A32 and taking a turning that cuts off the corner by Loomies to go out on the A272 (avoiding the 50mph average speed section), then the B2141 and ending up at Goodwood Aerodrome.
Things started well, but, unfortunately, there had been a major accident on the A32 which meant I had to divert around it and Sally Sat Nav started taking me along some tiny lanes which may have been nice at other times of the year, but now had big lines of gravel and leaf litter down the middle, meaning I was having to take them *very* carefully!
Thankfully I eventually got back onto decent roads and when I was on the B2141 I could hear this deep booming sound ahead of me and I caught up with four V-Twins out for a ride.
They were stuck behind a car doing about 45 in a 60 limit and seemed to show no inclination to pass, so a few quick tweaks of the throttle got me past the lot and I made progress to Goodwood.
Regrettably, the Cafe there seems to have greatly reduced their menu from what I could see, so I had a quick pee and decided to check out the return Route I stored.
As I was doing this, the four bikes I previously encountered pulled into the car park!
The return trip was, thankfully, less eventful than the outward journey, although I've found another nice piece of road which used to be fun has been spoiled by making it 30 mph for a large part which was disappointing.
But eventually it went back to National Limit, so I enjoyed the rest of the ride home.
