05 fz1 oil/water pump chain loose
#7
so my method of identifying noise area was a long ass 1\4 inch extension, it was from the front end of bike between block and headers, so from there i assumed oil pump. i wasnt getting a coolant drip out of weephole it was oil so that was the main reason i went for regasketing. i peeked up through the motor from the oil pan and it didnt seem like it popped off at top but due to the slack being so loose i went ahead and started to pull the clutch assembly only to get blocked by the stupid ass 30mm nut holding the basket to the bike. as of now new chain, coolant that matches the requirements for the bike, a new thermostat cause i kinda dropped it when i checked it, and the smaller orings for the oil pickup tube, are in the shopping list. also getting a flywheel puller for the magneto due to the stator getting replaced as well. ive gotten the orings for the other parts reguarding oil pump but havent gotten the orings foe the actual pump cause of the lack of wantinf to pull it fully (i realized how big of a job it is lmao). im hoping that this will solve th weep hole oil leak and some of the noise? is it worth gettimg carbs synced? it could be due to a lack of proper cleaning on the carb, but last time i rode it im pretty sure i remember it stalling out at idle unless it was idling at like 1600-2000rpm? ill send photos when im at the bike but this has been a nightmare trying to get this thing running hence the username lmfaoo. its a buddys bike and it sat for 2 years without proper preperation and one of those years was uncovered, so since ive been working on it its gotten carbs cleaned at least 3 times ( literally only the jets cause idk how to actually tke them apart past that but its been sprayed with carb cleaner down each hole, wire brush/ toothbrush to clean jets and butterfly valve, ive done 3 oilchanges with only like 10-15 miles max inbetween them cause gas flooded crank case after a float got removed and installed without chedking adjustment due to a lack of knowledge. i had initilly thought the tick was lifters, and when i had dirst touched the bike i was way in over my head and ended up removing the cam chain tensioner and reinstalled it without starting it so i double checked timing amd all seemed well. then it started dying while i was riding and bump started a couple times and then just quit, but would start after it sat for a little and figured out it was battery. replaced with a new one and it didnt charge while riding a couple times so but then stayed charged after those couple times. im assuming stator is intrermitent. any help would be appreciated beyond belief, seeing as how its been almost a year since ive gotten it and im sick of it and owner is wantimg it back ofc....
