I wasn't around at the very start, but I joined 'Meirion's Fazer Pages' probably in late 2001.
I had bought my first bike - a red/white/black FZS600S in 2000. I had my first 'off' in August 2001 after riding onto a flood of diesel on a right-hand bend (hence my username 'Ben Diesel'). After two years and 20k miles, I bought my second Fazer - a silver blue Gen 2 FZS600 - which saw me good for six years and 52k miles. In 2008 bought my Lava Red FZ1-S which I kept until 2015 and 72k miles. That was replaced with a Lava Red FJR1300 which I still ride. Also, in 2003 I had bought a 1995 Honda VFR750 which I still ride.
The social side was always fun, I met some good people and made great friends thanks to this forum. Nights out at the Silver Ball Cafe at Barkway, the World Famous Comfort Cafe at Fourwentways, the Godmanchester Chippy (recently closed) etc. Sadly lost touch with just about everyone over the years, and a few good souls are no longer with us. Never forgotten.
I still dip in here a few times a year for old times' sake. Now, I'll have to wait and see until I've posted this reply, to see if I still carry the 'FOC-U Pikey' tag.**
**EDIT: Seems I've reverted to Weekend Warrior.
