As I anticipated, the bike is a write off. I find it hard to believe that such little damage results in this. The insurer has made an offer and I think I'll retain the bike and get it repaired over winter, as and when I can find parts

Ok, but double check what ins category that want to put it in, if its non structural then it should be cat N (formerly D). If they Try cat S and its not the frame, then they are taking the piss.
