Interesting, so -

- can I assume the std yamaha bar-end screw straight in?
- the holes are present and in the right location for the left/right switchgear
- the diameter iof the bar is the same..?

What year FZS600 was this off and where the bars chrome? and Im guessing the FZS600 bar have a bit of an upsweep top them, so your hand are higher and a bit further back..?

And at a guess if FZS600 bars are compatible, then I would think so would FZS1000 bars....?

Firsty let me apologise, I misread the model as being the FZS1000, however I checked the bar dimensions.
I did ride the FZ1 N some time ago and didnt like the bars and felt they were too wide and straight for my taste
I also found the bars on my FZS1000 were too wide for me and  my shoulders were sore after rides in excess of 100 miles.

They are as follows:
Standard 7/8inch diameter.
End to end bare handle bars without the bar ends in place 650mm 25.5 inches
Center to center of the mount on the top yolk is 85mm about  3 and 5/16inches
The sweep back from the centre line is about 100mm 4inches
The rise is about 65mm 2.5inches
They will only take the FZS600/Fzs400 end weights
Holes should be the same for the Yamaha switches as most of them are,
