Yeah,as you both say,it could very well be something simple - the workshop I'm bringing it to are brilliant (it's 180km from where I'm based!), I've no qualms about letting them know my budget and doing whatever they think is necessary.
I think so long as she's not burning oil excessively (and hopefully the cam chain is good!) I'll be getting my money's worth and then some.
But definitely main priorities are valve clearances (4k km overdue).
Head bearings (occasional clonk - have checked all bolts on forks/brakes etc so pretty sure they need doing)
CCT (I'm hoping resetting this will quiet down the clatter!) along with grease the swing arm pivot(and or replace bearing if needed,its likely never been touched)
It's possible he'll recommend doing the carb inlet rubbers (PO replaced with cheap items (I think he said he got them on Amazon?) the 2 outers look like they're cracking already and they pulse...not ideal and likely too thin and possibly contributing the the hanging idle that's going on.
New end canĀ is completely unnecessary but is a present to myself for passing test/40th!
I'm really looking forward to picking it up in a few weeks time, running sweet and sounding a little saucy?
(I am of course mentally preparing for a bad news phone call in the next week or so!)
As it is,I've a piece of shit 50cc scooter I'm going out to throw new brakes on (both master cylinders banjoed - along with tyres,not my best purchase) that will get me about while I wait for Bluey to come back to me.
Could be far worse though - I very, very nearly bought a bloody Deauville! (Test rode, 2/3rds of the price handed over...thank god I didn't sign the logbook!?)
