Bike was running a little rough, now won't start.

Ah...

Mechanic rang me the afternoon he went to get into it.

Basically,he started t up and it ran fine!
Said he tried it a few times and no issues (a little reluctant to start but otherwise fine) and as he was away for a week from that evening suggested I take it back for the week and see how it goes.

I'll have had it back 2 weeks on Tuesday and apart from being a little reluctant to start occasionally it's running like a champ.

That said, it's now booked for this Thursday to have valve clearances checked/adjusted, check/reset cct (very noisy - I'm hoping the reset cures this but will chat to him about possible cam chain replacement if needed), head stock bearings and a few other bits.

Basically I told him - do the above mentioned bits, and if the cam chain doesn't need replacing - go through the bike, anything he thinks needs doing - have at it and when ya get to the €1000 mark and there's something you think should be done give me a shout beforehand.

(Also have a Delkivic 420mm tri-oval for him to fit, balance carbs afterwards)

May seem a bit much to pump that amount of money into a 21 year old bike but I'm really happy with it and I don't think there's anything drastically wrong with the bike - just getting it to where it should be.

It's phenomenal on juice too (have been getting close to 380kms from a tank - and that's with motorway stints (160k/180kms @ above 140kmh for long stretches)

Done Waterford to South Dublin suburbs on Friday in 1hr32mins on less than half a tank... seriously impressive in my book!
