So all in to get the Tracer to my liking:
Seems a lot but I got the bike for a good price. Shock £70, fork springs and oil £100, second set internals £70, screen £30, O2 eliminator £10 and clutch £180.
Now it’s great to ride
- Forks - still suffering with not enough rebound so decided to buy some second hand standard internals and fit to the left leg to give me adjustable rebound in both legs. Modified the shin stack on both compression valves. Now good with the linear springs.
- Shock - the ‘R6 mod’ of the Tracer is to fit a Kwak ZX6 / ZX10 shock. Now good.
- Fuelling - snatchy in standard form. Balanced throttle bodies and fitted 02 eliminator. Some people go for reflash but I’m happy now.
- Clutch - known issue with the CP3 engine causing vibrations. Had mine reworked with new Hilson rubbers. Made a massive difference to vibrations / noise.
- Seat - surprisingly the spacer mod to pick the front up by 10mm ish made a big difference and seems okay with standard. I might have a gel pad put in at some point if funds allow but it’s certainly not as terrible for me as reported by some.
- Screen - standard one and huge Kappa which both came with the bike caused me terrible buffeting. Purchased a small Puig (copy) sports screen from Ali Express. Now just fine.
