I remember reading on here years ago, that you had to drill and tap the end of the handlebars to fit the bar weights, however, looking at the ends of the bars, there is no material to drill or tap into!

So, my question is - a). Am I looking at getting some nice new bar weights for the Rentals, or b). do I have to even bother?

T.I.A.
When I did mine I got ripped off by an engineering shop as they said the bars needed to be drilled before they could be tapped. Whereas a pal just wound in the correct tap without predrilling. The thread is 16mm at 16tpi. The stock end weights are quite heavy at 308grams, so if you went for alternatives they’d need to be at least this weight.

There's nothing to tap into - the bars are hollow.
