The 400 is commonly known as the FZS400 or Fazer 400 but the proper designation is  FZ400 and is differentiated from the early 87-87 FZ400 by its model code is 4YR. The earlier model was 1WG
When you looking at parts make sure it is for the 4YR FZ not 1WG FZ
If you notice many of the parts for the 600 have 4yr as the start of the part number. which means they are for the same for the 400 and 600.
