The drinking the by product stunt reminded me of a guy called Trevor Jackson, who bought the right to the Austin Motor Co logo. His company is Austin Electric. He’s developed the aluminium/air battery a stage further and came up with a non toxic electrolyte, that he would drink in demos to would be investors. His batteries are non rechargeable and are changed and recycled. He regards them as fuel cells rather than batteries, but reckons one of his cells of equivalent weight to the battery in a Tesla S, which apparently has a range of 370 miles, would carry the Tesla 2700 miles. There must be a glaring negative to this idea as it’s certainly not making any headlines.

The fuel tank in my car holds 72 litres, which is lighter than a Tesla battery and can go 500 + miles. Does anyone else see a pattern?
