I think you're right. The way things are moving, you wont be allowed to alter/modify/adjust etc anything on bikes or motor cars. It will all be sealed units, have to be taken to dealers, replacement parts having to be programmed in to be accepted by the vehicle. Mechanics will become parts changers rather than fault finding and rectifying. I saw this starting in the few years before I retired from work, service engineers were just swapping parts until faults disappeared.
