I'm pretty lucky in that I'm not using the tools as much as I used too - so having spent out earlier in my career, I can now relax in the knowledge that what I have, will more than likely see me through. Any new kit is generally sourced from whoever has it in stock. I even have an Aldi set of metric stubby spanners. Not going to get used very often, so I made that choice to save a few quid. (They are actually quite good!)
I've got spanners & sockets etc in metric, A/F, B.S.F./Whitworth & B.A. Had them for 30+ years and yes, they still get used. I suppose the majority of any new tool purchases are the specialist stuff for the cars Fazer :lol . Although, I have just spent best part of £100 on a crankshaft seal tool for a Lycoming aircraft engine!
I only bought my first JIS screwdriver set a couple of years ago - who'd of thought I needed more screwdrivers :rollin :rollin :rollin
