They were saying yesterday that the labour shortage is due to the furlough scheme. Ie people are happy to stay on 80% to do nothing. Once travel/parking/lunch etc...costs are deducted they're not much worse off apparently.

Except of course, the decision to furlough and when to end furlough, is made by the employer, not the employee.
