Update,
I fitted the adjustable relay and it actually works better than the one supplied with the lamps, which caused the dash repeaters to stay on and dim when the indicators flashed on/off.
The adjustable relay allowed me to trim the flash rate down nearer to the original rate and the dash repeaters now work as original.
