Small(er) number plates?

I have a smaller plate and got stopped for it once. It was a long time ago but I recall having to go to police station but I did not say why and they did not know so nothing happened. I do have a full size in case MOT fails it which I think it did once, but then the smaller once goes on.
So as above, don't go so small that it is really obvious. |
