If you eventually decide it is the TPS playing up, then please do not buy a Used one. You will only end up needing another one sooner rather than later so it's not worth the trouble. I bought two used ones before realising this, and then eventually bought a brand new one which i should have done straight away, after they both broke down as well. A used one could be up to 22 years old now with unknown mileage on it so it's really not worth it from a monetary perspective.
