It was a good engine, but frame design was iffy, clocked 175mph on the straight (in 1977) and ran high up in its debut endurance race until the Universal joint on the shaft drive broke.
The location of the swinging arm pivot was totally wrong and it was putting huge strain on the UV joint, it finally broke. Rules changed to 4 cylinder make and the project was abandoned.The project did put a huge strain on their resources and the advanced Japanese 4 cylinders that finally nailed its coffin in 1985.
