The logic in keeping the R1 is that it is holding its value, possibly increasing even because it's an early model in totally original condition and with only 15k miles on the clock. My days of bike touring are over - I think - and since I still fit comfortably on the R1, it'll do fine for the occasional blast around the local roads when the mood is on me.
