had an hour to spare this afternoon so had another go at the oil seal...finally got it out 
......comparing old to new seals and all`s good but i dont have the metal "cup" that holds the inner oil seal,going to check fowlers and see if its available,so,another hurdle to jump and more time waiting for parts,all worth it come spring time
