Well welcome to the FZ1 then and congratulations.
At the point I bought mine, I was pretty handy and pushing my 600 to the limits pretty well but it was another level as you say. You'll get more and more used to it and in some months or years when it's like a comfortable glove you'll be amazed at it's true power and performance. It can embarrass plenty of sports bikes believe me and yet i've toured all of Europe on mine too.....fantastic machine and that's why I've never considered changing mine in the 8 years i've had it even though i've had plenty of opportunities to do so.

Check out this real world review, might give you some tips of what you may want to change. As I said, I had the fuelling sorted on mine so not really sure how bad it can be.
