Quote:Even better really if your going for brand new as the first wave of models will be done with so any potential issues should be have been made apparent. Also theres a good chance you'll be able to pick up a pre reg at a discount ?
Or even better a 'nearly new' one with a few thousand miles on it and most of the depreciation taken care of
Wouldn’t think there would be too many ‘issues’. The 1250 engine has already been fitted to the other boxers – the naked job being the last to get it, I think. And the rest of the bike is more or less the same as the previous 1200.
Pre reg deals? Not seen any dealers advertising them up here for a good while. I know some of the big car dealers up here churn them out – seems to be some sort of bulk buy and sell em cheap arrangement with the importers. Doesn’t seem to be about meeting sales targets as it used to be.
Which brings me to BMW. Get the impression the bikes are mostly to order – massive factory options list. They did have one in the showroom but it was speced up past 15K with a lot of stuff I really don’t want. They did say they would be selling their demo model soon – but they don’t get run in right, and everybody is jumping on and thrashing em – right?
Also I laugh when I look at used BMW ticket prices. :\
With the Japanese 4 I can go onto auto trader or e bay and see loads of new deals which will help me negotiate with my local dealer – or I could just buy in the North of England.
But I looked for BMW deals – nowt I could see! Not to mention their PCP deals are not very attractive.
I’m wondering if they expect customers to pay RRP list price – we are BMW and all that….. :eek
