If you are careful/lucky, you might be able to remove the cover without damaging the gasket.

Either way, when you refit either the old gasket or a new one, grease it on both sides to ensure that you can remove it in the future without damaging it.  There's not pressure on the gasket to worry about from an oil leak perspective.
