Little too much oil?

Souds ok to me, I found that after 1 day like you it gos up and it will even keep going up after a few days after standing. Let it settle for 1/2 hour and use that as your guide, if you try too hard to get a perfect level when you look/measure after 1 day you will start to get oil light flash on fast acceleration.

Erm, no, don't let it settle for half an hour, 'cos that would be wrong!
Do it the way I said above.
