You can see the fan motor (No.46) gets 12V when the thermo switch (No. 47) closes. It closes when the coolant gets too hot. If you bypass the thermo switch by connecting a bit of wire into the back of the connector going to the thermo switch the fan should come on. If it doesn't come on check the fan fuse (No.48). The thermo switch is screwed into the thermostat housing so to get to it take off your seat and tilt up the tank. You will see two wires connected to the thermostat housing. Connect in your wire to the back of that connector and the fan will come on. But as darssi said the fan hardly ever comes on so your bike is probably fine.
