In case you were unaware, today is national helicoil day, at least it was in the shed of dread.
Photos:
1 Front tank mount.
2 Left hand side panel.
3 Bottom front sprocket cover.
Why's it nearly always 6mm threads that go, not 8mm or even a 5mm, the equivalent 1/4" does the same on old imperial British iron.
Anyway the ever reliable helicoil insert tool went all unreliable on me by snapping its fork end off in the blind hole engine casting, twaty bollocks, I had to pick away and uncoil the helicoil to retrieve the broken bits, cut a new slot in the insert tool and do it again.
