Mobile phones also don't cause petrol fumes to ignite.
I watched a lengthy Mythbusters episode where they had a sealed Perspex case (about 2 metre square) that was FULL of nasty petrol fumes (much greater level than any open air environment of a petrol station forecourt). They tried LOADS of different brand mobile phones inside, switched on, ringing, etc. Nothing will ignite, zero spark! It's all public scaremongery.
