No but the tail lights are not illuminated so the vehicle is not visible from the rear.

There is a MAJOR design flaw on some cars with DRL's that illuminates the dashboard lights at all times. Illuminated dashboards with some semblance of illumination at the front means people think they have their lights on. My Mrs has done it in her FIAT 500L.

for other muppets, it just shows how often they look at their speedo. Complete darkness = no lights on.
