JB Weld is damn good stuff.
First time I used it (and even heard of it) was when I was in Penzance with some mates and one of them got knocked off his bike.
A cover on his crankcase had a split and was seeping oil which is not good when you're 400 miles from home.
We went to the only bike shop we could find and they suggested JB Weld (and where to get some), so I dashed round the shops as it was nearly closing time. I did the repair in the harbour car park and we had fish n chips while the stuff cured.
The repair lasted 6 months - it didn't start leaking again even after thousands of miles, it just took my mate 6 months to buy a replacement part. He still has the repaired one in his shed.
