FZS1000 Fazer from the U.S.

(24-12-17, 04:00 PM)besser-is-das link Wrote: i have a question about a 1000Fazer, which is imported from U.S. is there a big difference to european model. would i get problems getting spareparts in case of need, or is it the same.
My 2005 is originally from Hawaii, and I have found almost all parts are the same.
  • The headlight need changing of course
  • The indicators have to have the extra wire Unplugged (its for the always on front indicators)
  • The left and right switch gear need to be swapped for UK specs to get back some functionality - hazard lights, headlight on/off) - thankfully the connectors for the UK s-gear are already in-place
  • And lastly the loom and even then only some of the connections, it has one headlight relay instead of the usual 2(which I have since put back and wired up as per Uk spec - this allows me to turn the headlight/sidelights off). And in my case there was a bit of a volt drop to the instrument cluster so ran a new earth.
Mine didnt have the air vaporiser kit (I guess as its not a cali model), also my fuel mix screws were accessable so I guess the first owner must have removed the blanks.
