I assume you are using fresh petrol and not the 8 year old stuff? A few years ago I was helping a mate to recommission a bike that has been stood for ages. Had fuel, spark and carbs clean. It was only when we poured a bit of old petrol on the floor and tried to light it that we realised it was knackered. Drained old petrol, filled her up with new and away it went.
