Yes there is a small gap but it should be the same all the way around but just a few mms at most. There should be a allen key hold in the end that you can undo. Do they have signs of scratches on them which would suggest that the bike has been over and also explain the screw-wiff fitting
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
