They are an incredible looking piece of kit when you see them in person.
I was in Malta years ago and the U.S. aircraft carrier J.F.K. docked while I was there, then 3000 navy crew took over the town for 3 days getting absolutely hammered on booze.

ahh Valletta  yeah had a few runs ashore there!! used to make the pilgrimage to "the last Drop inn", have raise a tot to Ollie Read who spent his last few hours drinking there with matelots & booties...

Yep, i spent a couple of evenings in there too, a tiny little bar that's like a shrine to him.
Funnily enough i worked on set of Gladiator too, which was why he was there.
