Flames out of exhaust are usually caused by over fueling, i.e. the bike is running very rich. But usually these bikes run quite lean as standard and adding an aftermarket can or air filter makes it even leaner.
So it is also possible that is running too lean and that is not good.
Blue flames mean it is oxygen rich and indicates an air leak,  running lean.
Yellow flames is petrol being burnt, running rich.
