Think it's ok as I fitted what was meant to be a super slippy one and then once fitted and found the lever still to be heavy so disconnected one end of it to check that it wasn't dragging or badly routed and it seemed fine.
Think the probs are with the slots the plates sit in and they may need dressing with a file or renewing. Saw another post about the plates overheating and suggestions of drilling holes in the basket - don't think that's yet my problem!
