Thanks all, enjoyed improving the breed, even if it was only by a small amount. Couldn't stand such a good bike being held back by mediocre suspension.

No idea if touring will re-inspire me on 2 wheels, worth a try!
Vinnyb: yes, I have a couple of shocks out in the garage ripe for conversion. I also saw your very nice, largely unmolested 9k bike  Smile Very nice, surely there's a bit of life left in the shock, or are you just not impressed with standard suspension front 'n' back?
