Sounds like you had bad luck there Dea-ville.
I had the same operation 22 years ago, I had it done in a Hospital Outpatients one morning and was back at work the next day with no ill effects what-so-ever.
A mate of mine had it done around the same time and one of his Gooleys was black and badly swollen, he was off work for nearly 2 weeks with an infection in it, mind you his 3 year old daughter did not help by running across the room and jumping into his lap :eek :'(
