Rear sprocket bolts

I don't trust aluminium nuts, particularly so when I don't know how long they've been on, how tight and how many times removed, so I got a stainless steel set from Pro-Bolt. They're nice and shiny, but not cheap at nearly 25 quid including postage.
Aluminium would be an unusual material to make nuts from, are you sure they weren't titanium?
