Smoother lighter clutch action normally. Cables are cheaper/less complicated to make and replace than a hydraulic system.
It will be interesting to see how he does it, i.e. what parts are used and how they fit. Master cylinder and slave cylinder/actuator sizes will be the hardest bit to get right. Its not as if the early R1's had hydraulic clutches.
