The feed pipe shouldn't be touching the chain, it should be dripping onto the sprocket just above the chain it then seeps onto the chain.
My biggest problem with the 600 was the flimsy alloy bracket that came with the kit and holds the feed pipe in place, every time I tightened the axle nut after adjusting the chain it would bend out of shape.
I got a mechanic to drill a hole in the front sprocket cover and fed the tube through that, it nowdrips onto the top of the chain at the front sprocket.
Apparently it's an old dispatch riders mod for the oiler.
